Slow ViewPoint, Text
and Dimension changes in AutoCAD
1. Set DISPSILH = 0 (we set this to 1 for plotting so extra lines do not show up in solids)
2. Work in 2d WireFrame display style
3. Audit and repair and purge all xrefs.
4. View cube is slow, Use VP (DDVPOINT) or right click in the toolbar area and open and use the “View” toolbar.
5. If you insist on using the Viewcube uncheck “Use view transitions when switching views” Options > 3d Modeleing > ViewCube.
6. BREP removes solids history (subtracted joined ext. can lower file size and speed up display of solids)
8. Change the desktop theme in Windows to Windows Basic.
9. Options > System tab > Layout Regen Options, Start with Regen when switching layouts.
10. Turn on hardware Acceleration.
11. Other purge options available at AutoDESK.
